Expo Seguridad Mexico, considered one of the top physical and electronic security events for the Latin American marketplace, announced this week that Alan Bell, president of Globe Risk Holdings, will be presenting the keynote address for the 2007 event.

The Alberta legislature's locks should be changed and policies about workers taking keys home updated, says a security expert after a worker was robbed of his keys. A 16-year-old boy, who police say worked at the legislature, was robbed of his candy by four golf club wielding men about 8:50 Halloween night. The teen's candy bag contained his cellphone and work keys.

Even if it wasn't Osama bin Laden's voice on Tuesday's taped warning, experts say al Qaeda almost certainly has Canada in its sights. They say the chilling message must jolt the government into action.
"For the very first time in living history Canadians have been fingered as a potential terrorist target by a major terrorist group," said Alan Bell, a Toronto-based security consultant. "We're front and centre now."
Security Issues in the Oil & Gas Industry
In October 2000, the USS Cole, a guided missile destroyer anchored in the port of Aden, in Yemen, was attacked, and almost sunk by a small group of terrorists. The US Navy’s investigation described the attack as “a determined, preplanned assault.” It also exonerated the commanding officer on the grounds that he did not have the necessary “intelligence, focused training, appropriate equipment or on-scene security support” to prevent such an attack.
